Why You Need SKUs in Your Business
Successful Inventory Management Starts Here
In small businesses, product codes (or SKUs) are often overlooked or dismissed as unnecessary. But this myth can hurt your bottom line. Let me show you why SKUs are crucial to your success.
What is an SKU, and Why Do You Need Them?
SKUs are unique identifiers for your products, allowing you to track inventory, manage orders, and forecast demand with ease. Whether you're working from your kitchen table or scaling up to multiple platforms, having a simple yet effective SKU system will help your business grow.
The Power of Inventory Management
Think of inventory management as your business's backbone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re just starting out with a few products or running a more established business—efficient inventory management is the key to profitability, consistency, and success.
This compact training programme will show you how setting up something as simple as an Excel stock management system can have a significant impact on your turnover. You’ll learn how SKUs streamline order fulfilment, reduce excess stock, and keep you on top of customer demand.
By the end, you’ll understand the importance of tracking every piece of inventory and how this data helps you optimise profits, reduce waste, and manage your sales across multiple platforms.
How SKUs Increase Your Bottom Line
Data is power, and managing your inventory accurately means you’re working with the right information to make smarter decisions. Proper inventory management:
- Boosts revenue by keeping stock levels aligned with demand.
- Reduces excess stock and costly overstocking.
- Helps track raw materials and profit margins.
- Streamlines sales across multiple channels.
- Improves forecasting by identifying trends.
Who is This Training for?
This training is for anyone who wants to run a more profitable and efficient business, regardless of size. Whether you're a solopreneur or an experienced small business owner, the need for clear, organised inventory management is non-negotiable. If you produce products from raw materials or manage stock from a supplier, effective inventory tracking is a must.
Effective inventory management isn’t just about what you sell—it’s about knowing your numbers. If you’re not tracking your data in an easy-to-understand way that can integrate across sales platforms, you’re leaving money on the table. Let me show you how to set yourself up for long-term success.

Excellent Training
As with all of Paula's training courses, this one was excellent. I knew a bit about SKU's, and knew that I needed to incorporate them into my business. I'd begun to do this already, but the training gave me a much better understanding of what SKU's are about and different ways to build a SKU system. Thank you.
